Conventa 2014

From 21−23 January 2014 Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre hosted the 6th Conventa, the largest business event of congress tourism in Southeast Europe.

Six years ago, the organizers of the Conventa conference started connecting the congress tourism offer of the Southeastern European region with the aim to raise the profile and competitiveness of the cities in Southeast Europe.

This year's Conventa featured the most prominent congress service providers from 12 countries: the majority came from Slovenia, followed by representatives from Austria, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic Italy, Romania and Turkey.

This year's event also hosted the highest number of foreign guests invited so far – more than 100 local and 200 foreign guests from 25 countries (90% of all guests were first-time attendees). The event also featured the highest number of pre-arranged meetings between exhibitors and invited guests (3,158) as well as the highest number of study excursions across Southeast Europe. In addition to this, the Conventa conference presented the highest number of congress destinations so far.

For the first time, Conventa was also the co-organizer and host of a business breakfast of the British-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce (BSCC) on »Event Management as a Profession« as well as a co-organizer and host of a presentation of the Slovenian-German Chamber of Commerce titled »Corporate Events Trends in Germany«.
