Delegations from bratislava, budapest, prague and warsaw in ljubljana

On Tuesday 15 February 2011 the Mayor of the City of Ljubljana Zoran Janković received the Mayors of Bratislava and Budapest and the Deputy Mayors of Prague and Warsaw.

The Mayor of Ljubljana welcomed to the Red Hall of City Hall the Mayors of Bratislava and Budapest Milan Ftačnik and Istvan Tarlós, and the Deputy Mayors of Prague and Warsaw, Karl Brezino and Jarosław Kochaniak, who were in Ljubljana to take part in the gala celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the Višegrad group.

At the reception they stressed the importance of co-operation between capitals in every field, whereupon the guests signed the city’s Golden Book. There then followed a visit to the construction of the underground car park beneath Kongresni trg (Congress Square), a visit to Breg, the construction of the new Hradecki Bridge on Krakovski nasip (Krakow Embankment), North Park, Žale Park and the Stožice Centre.

During a visit to Ljubljana University the guests were received by University Rector Prof. Dr. Radovan Stanislav Pejovnik.

The Mayor of the City of Ljubljana Zoran Janković and the Mayor of Budapest Istvan Tarlós discussed the showcasing of Ljubljana and Budapest, planned from 14 – 19 June 2011. During talks with the Mayor of Bratislava Milan Ftačnik, emphasis was put on the exchange of experience in the field of traffic management.

At their bilateral talks, Deputy Mayor of the City of Ljubljana Aleš Čerin and Deputy Mayor of Warsaw Jarosław Kochaniak discussed the sustainable projects being carried out in both cities, and pointed up the importance of obtaining European funding. Talks with the Deputy Mayor of Prague, also attended by the Director of Kinodvor, Nina Peče, focussed on the theme of co-operation in the field of the cinematic arts.
