Did you know: train Urban transported in the first 100 days 16.720 passengers

On August 3, 2018 electric train Urban marked his 100th working day. He has up to now transported 16.720 passengers.

With electric train Urban we have this year reintroduced a compelling tourist circular route, which connects the most important attractions in Ljubljana.

Citizens of Ljubljana and visitors alike enjoy the train ride

The train can carry 52 passengers and offers in one of the two coaches a separate space for a wheelchair to accommodate people with disabilities. The nine-kilometre-long ride takes, depending on the traffic, between 75 to 90 minutes.

An eco-friendly vehicle without harmful emissions takes a circular route, which includes 10 stops (Town Hall, Ljubljana Castle, Špica/Botanical Garden, Trnovski pristan embankment, Plečnik’s house, Križanke, Kongresni trg, Parliament, Opera and Ajdovščina).

The passengers can get on and off the train at any stop. The first train ride starts at 9.30 on Stritarjeva ulica near the Town Hall.

Ljubljana in nine languages

Main city attractions are presented to the passengers on the train by an audio guide in nine languages (Slovenian, English, German, Italian, Croatian, French, Spanish, Russian and Chinese). An audio guide in Portuguese will soon be available.

The visitors return the components of the headset by putting them into the collecting bag. They are then sent to to processing which is another good example of a circular economy practiced in the municipality of Ljubljana.
