On 28 and 29 June 2016, the General Manager of the public company Energetika Ljubljana Samo Lozej and the Mayor of Pančevo Saša Pavlov continued their talks regarding the cooperation of the energy company Energetika Ljubljana in the reorganisation of the public sector in Pančevo.

Within the scope of the meeting, at which the talks from March continued when a letter of intent was also signed, General Manager Lozej and Mayor Pavlov defined following priorities:
- public sector reorganisation (reorganisation of public utility companies, that is, infrastructure),
- preparation of a strategy for district heating development and measures for increasing energy efficiency,
- public lighting optimisation.

The energy company Energetika Ljubljana is going to support the city of Pančevo in performing the necessary activities by sharing its experiences and good practices, and the company for the application of energy solutions GGE, associated with the company Energetika Ljubljana, is also going to facilitate the achievement of set goals in the field of energy efficiency.
In parallel, Ljubljana, this year’s European Green Capital, is going to share its good practises in the area of sustainable development with the city of Pančevo which is also well aware of the significance of sustainable development. Namely, in the aforementioned letter of intent it is also written down that, among other goals, Pančevo wants to develop into a smart and energy efficient city.
