Eurocities Annual General Meeting

On 4 and 5 November 2015, Mayor Zoran Janković and Deputy Mayor Tjaša Ficko attended the Eurocities Annual General Meeting which was this year hosted by two cities, Malmö in Sweden and Copenhagen in Denmark.

At this year’s meeting, among other, Ljubljana was chosen to host the Eurocities Annual General Meeting in 2017 and, in addition, it was elected to the Eurocities Executive Committee for the next three-year term.
Within the scope of the conference round tables on four different topics were held: air quality, employment, securing investment and local economic development, and urban mobility.
Deputy Mayor Tjaša Ficko also took part in the discussion on urban mobility and presented Ljubljana's activities and good practices in the field.

The Eurocities network was founded in 1986 by mayors of six large European cities: Barcelona, Birmingham, Frankfurt, Lyon, Milano and Rotterdam, and now it includes over 130 biggest European cities and 40 partner cities with more than 130 million residents.
