European Robotics Forum 2016
In Ljubljana from 21 to 23 March, the European Robotics Forum took place, which is the most important meeting in European robotics. The participants of the forum were welcomed by the mayor of Ljubljana Zoran Janković in the city hall.
The forum was organised by a Brussels based international non-profit association of all stakeholders in European robotics euRobotics AISBL, which links the European robotics science and industry. The event was a meeting point for almost 700 researchers, engineers, managers and a growing number of entrepreneurs from all over Europe.
First day of the forum was dedicated to public procurement regarding robotics and elderly care, development of robotics in Slovenia and Western Balkans. Day two dealt with digitalization of the European industry proposed by the European Commission. Representatives of international organizations presented projects financed by the EU in the amount of €700 million in a robotics public private partnership SPARC. The European industry's overall investment will amount to €2.1 billion, which makes it the largest robotics innovation programme in the world.
On the last day of the meeting, the participants discussed new opportunities of financing robotics projects, robotics and the internet of things, development in science for reproducing robots, and efficient robot programming.
In Cankarjev dom, there was an exhibition of robots of numerous companies.
