To mark the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations 2012, the City of Ljubljana prepared a discussion with Neža Maurer at City Hall on 25 May 2012.
As part of European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations, the City of Ljubljana has prepared a range of activities, among which on Friday 25 May 2012 was an event at City Hall whose central element was a discussion with the Ambassador of European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations, poet Neža Maurer. The discussion was led by one of Slovenia’s best stand-up comics, Boštjan Gorenc Pižama. In line with the title of European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations, the emphasis of the discussions was linked with themes on active ageing and intergenerational solidarity.
Those attending the event were also given an introductory address by Mayor Zoran Janković, while the event was also enriched by the sounds of the Ljubljana Veterans Brass Band Cultural Society and the singing of a children’s choir from Zadobrova Primary School.
It is important to add that the City of Ljubljana dedicates ever more attention and care to older people, and upon the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations we will devote further work to enrich the content in this field.
