Experiment: mobile!

An exhibition entitled ‘Experiment: Mobile! Mobile photography – from the phone to an exhibition’ is on show at Ljubljana City Museum until 20 September 2013. The exhibition has been created as part of the OpenMuseums European project.

‘Experiment: Mobile! Mobile photography – from the phone to an exhibition’ is one of the first Slovenian exhibitions at which photography created by mobile phones and worked upon with digital image processing tools is on display.

The exhibition comprises 194 photos of the city of Ljubljana, put together into several themed groups.
Between January and March 2013, Ljubljana City Museum conducted a photographic experiment, namely a call to the general public via their website, Facebook and Twitter to invite Instagram users to forward their pictures of Ljubljana to the museum via an app. Many (occasional) photographers answered the call, and the museum received more than 1,000 pictures. From among them, a jury selected 194 photographs by 43 photographers. An interesting exhibition of individual views of the city of Ljubljana has been created entitled ‘Experiment: Mobile! Mobile photography – from the phone to an exhibition’ on the basis of the photos chosen.

You can find out more about the exhibition and the OpenMuseums project at the Ljubljana City Museum website.
