Extended Tactile Path on Čopova Street

The City of Ljubljana is continuing with setting up tactile markings on the paving of the Čopova Street. The Path will run to the end of the Čopova Street and continue in a half-circle to the Wolfova Street.

The tactile markings will be then set up by the bridge fence at Tromostovje bridges towards the Central Pharmacy at Prešeren's Square and the Cankarjevo Nabrežje embankment. This will conclude the circle – from Slovenska, through Čopova, passing near Tromostovje to the Cankarjevo Nabrežje, to the Čevljarski (Shoemaker's) Bridge and following the river on the Breg embankment to the Karlovška Road.
As familiar, the tactile markings are gradually being installed within the renovations of the city surfaces and in accordance with the comprehensive plan of floor tactile leading system (the TTVS plan) in the narrow city centre for persons with visual impairment.

In 2012 the City of Ljubljana has guaranteed a comprehensive professional groundwork for gradual instalment of tactile paths for the blind and visually impaired in Ljubljana. It predicts installations in the city centre distances, which is most often used by the potential users in their daily life. Each path is connected to the Public Transport stations, which provides modern, low-floor city buses, which are equipped with audio and video monitors and represent the accessible public transportation.
The mentioned endeavours have among other brought the City of Ljubljana the bronze Access City Award 2015, which places Ljubljana in the mere peak of European cities in the field of sustainable mobility of urban space, public transportation, information and various services and programmes for persons with disabilities.
The arrangements and solutions for people with disabilities are also presented in the "Accessible Ljubljana" video.
