Fabiani's Ljubljana
The City of Ljubljana published the third brochure from the collection Portrait of the City, dedicated to Maks Fabiani and his Ljubljana.
The brochure is divided into the following thematic sections: Ljubljana – provincial city of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy; Maks Fabiani and the birth of the modern national capital; Fabiani's heritage – condition and looking ahead, and a walk through Fabiani's Ljubljana.
In 2015, we marked the 150th anniversary of birth of Maks Fabiani, the architect who denoted the development of Ljubljana after the great earthquake in 1895. Among other, he self-initiatively conducted an urban plan for Ljubljana, where he planned a bypass circle road on Masarykova, Njegoševa, Roška, Karlovška, Zoisova, Aškerčeva and along the Tivoli park. His plan for the inner road circle was finished in 2012 by constructing Fabiani Bridge that connects Roška and Njegoševa street.
Publication Portrait of the City – Fabiani’s Ljubljana is an excellent opportunity to get to know the architect and his contemporaries closer – they created our city together and their work can be seen at every step.
You are kindly invited to read the publication.
