The Hans Christian Andersen Kindergarten is the first kindergarten in Slovenia to receive the Family-Friendly Company certificate.

On 13 December 2013, the Family-Friendly Company certificate, awarded by the Ekvilib Institute together with the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs, was received by 36 companies, of which 8 were full certificates and 26 basic certificates. The latter has also been awarded to the Hans Christian Andersen Kindergarten.

Upon receiving the certificate Principal Tina Merčnik commented: "Starting in September, we were in a process of certification and with our joined Andersen forces, we ultimately succeeded. We also accepted the implementation plan, which we will be realizing during the next three years. As we believe that only contented adults can excel at looking after their children, the real beneficiaries of this certificate will indeed be our little ones."

The Family-Friendly Company certificate represents a concept of organizational management, founded on the positive effects of balancing professional and private life of those employed. The effects are reflected in decreased fluctuation, decreased sick leave and nursing quotas, decreased number of accidents and so on, as well as in increased satisfaction, motivation and dedication of the employed, which visibly contributes to a positive economic performance.
