Film education in cinemas
The Kinodvor City Cinema will host the International Conference on Approaches to Young Audiences "Film Education in Cinemas" on Wednesday and Thursday, 7 and 8 May 2014.
There is an increasing number of film education programmes in Slovenia. They take place at schools, libraries, cultural centres and cinemas. Some film education programmes facilitate the viewing of quality films and instil a critical gaze; others encourage the creativity of young people in the field of cinema. What is the role of cinemas in film education? How should a cinema connect with educational institutions, what programmes should it prepare for teenagers and what is the relation between cinemas and new media in conducting film education? These are the basic questions they will try to answer at the International Conference on Approaches to Young Audiences "Film Education in Cinemas”.
The event is available for cinematographers, film festivals, educational professionals, and experts in educational institutions, students and anyone with interest in the topic. Participation is free-of-charge.
The Kinodvor City Cinema will host the top organisers of the ECFA (European Children’s Film Association) of which Kinodvor is also a member, represented by Petra Slatinšek, their Kinobalon (a programme for children and youth) and film education manager.
You can register on the Kinodvor website. More information on the programme and the event is available at the following link.
