Footpaths to ljubljana castle

Residents of and visitors to Ljubljana Castle can now stroll up to Ljubljana Castle along the newly renovated Mačja steza, while in the evenings you can enjoy the newly illuminated and refurbished Študentovska pot.

On Mačja steza (‘the Cat Track’), the City of Ljubljana has put up a newly-made retaining wall, and above it a stone wall. The path embankments on Mačja steza have been done up, and the path has been newly paved or asphalted in the lower section.

Along the entire length of Študentovska pot, the City has put up INOX safety fencing with earthfast post construction and improved the path illumination with functional decorative LED diode lamps housed in the fence handrail. The lighting design follows new trends that stress the importance of energy efficiency and the environmental impact of lighting. The lamps used have an LED diode light source which uses less energy and have a longer lifespan. The total power of the newly-installed lighting is just 736 watts. On the middle section of the path we have built a supporting wall and along its entire length repaired the existing degraded concrete drainage channels.
