Frankfurt After Frankfurt

Between 14 and 19 November 2016, the 30th Frankfurt after Frankfurt sales exhibition of foreign books is held at the Konzorcij book store and the information office Point. For you., this year focused on books in the field of ecology.

The exhibition under the slogan »I read green« is organised by the Mladinska knjiga publishing house in cooperation with Ljubljana, European Green Capital 2016 and UNESCO City of Literature.
It features some 7000 best foreign titles of last year and numerous foreign publishers from ten countries. Above all it presents novelties in the field of non-fiction, as well as recipients of literary awards, artist monographs, hiking and travel books and illustrated reference books. Again this year, there is a display of books by Slovenian authors published by foreign publishing houses.

Each year a particular field is »in the focus«, and this year special attention is given to books in the field of ecology, sustainable development and green issues, especially energy efficiency, smart waste management, climate change adaptation and responsible water management.

At this year’s Frankfurt after Frankfurt exhibition the City of Ljubljana is celebrating the title Ljubljana, European Green Capital 2016, with books, in addition to encouraging people to read and promoting books as a sustainable value. A year ago Ljubljana was also named the 16th UNESCO City of Literature which nicely coincides whit this joint book project.

The main Frankfurt after Frankfurt exhibition is held in the Konzorcij book shop with a smaller part at the information office Point. For you. set up in front of the City Hall during the green year. The exhibition at the Point. For you. features predominately ecological books, including twelve books the City of Ljubljana chose within the framework of the partnership cooperation and recommends for reading.
