Get a lift with cavalier 3

Test drives of the Cavalier 3 electric bus are underway around the parts of the city centre that are closed to traffic. It's available and free-of-charge of users all year round.

In summer, the new electric bus will run at 10-15 minute intervals on a route connecting the pedestrian zone with the busiest LPP bus stops (Drama and Krekov trg), and passengers will be able to go to the central market free-of-charge.
Unlike the first two Cavaliers, which were introduced in 2009 and go where the passengers choose, in the summer, Cavalier 3 will run on a predetermined route, while in winter it will be available on call.
Cavalier 3 had its first test drive around the city centre on Monday 2 September, and its regular operations get underway on the first day of European Mobility Week, Monday 16 September 2013.
The new electric vehicle will provide residents of and visitors to the capital environmentally-friendly transport, as it produces no noise or emissions. The vehicle is comfortable and will enable passengers – it can carry five at a time – to get to their destination faster; this is especially important for residents that have difficulty walking longer distances around the large pedestrian zone.
The sliding doors, which open upon passengers' request, were specially made for LPP, while, in addition, the bus is also appropriately equipped with a low-entry platform. A special anti-pinch system assures safety while getting in and out of the vehicle and during the journey. New lead gel battery technology makes the minibus more energy efficient than older generations of electric vehicles. The bus can run 100km on a full battery.
