Good luck, olympians!

"I am proud of you, and firmly believe that you will successfully represent Slovenia and Ljubljana in London", wrote Mayor Zoran Janković in a letter to Ljubljana's Olympic and Paralympic sportsmen and women.

“We are proud that Ljubljana has sportsmen and women who are going to represent not just Slovenia but also Ljubljana at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Every one of you has earned their participation in the greatest sporting event through solid, dedicated and tenacious work. Dear sportsmen and women, we will support you in a sporting spirit and eagerly await your success.

In his letter sent to Ljubljana sportsmen and women participating in the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London, Mayor Zoran Janković stressed that "The Olympic Games are the dream of every athlete, which comes true only for the greatest. You are among those for whom the dream has come true. I am proud of you, and firmly believe that you will successfully represent Slovenia and Ljubljana in London.
Ljubljana will cheer on each and every one of you; we will keep our fingers crossed and celebrate with you. I hope that the challenges that await you bring out the best rankings so that you, Ljubljana and Slovenia will be written into Olympic history. I am sure that London will be a city of the greatest successes for you.
I look forward to your return and I hope that the Olympic Games fulfil your personal expectations".

London will see participation by a range of Ljubljana sportsmen and women: athletes Matija Kranjc, Marija Šestak and Tina Šutej, badminton player Maja Tvrdy, judoists Aljaž Sedej and Raša Sraka Vuković, canoeists Benjamin Savšek and Eva Terčelj, table tennis player Bojan Tokić, swimmer Peter Mankoč, shooters Rajmond Debevec and Živa Dvoršak. Blaž Kavčič is to compete in the tennis tournament and Mateja Šimic in the triathlon. The colours of Ljubljana sports clubs will also be carried by cyclist Polona Batagelj, gymnast Saša Golob and athlete Brent Michael William Larue.
Ljubljana athlete Tanja Cerkvenik is to take part in the Paralympic Games.
