The European Healthy Cities Network, operating within the framework of the World Health Organisation, held its annual conference in Kuopio, Finland, from 22 till 26 June 2015. Two representatives from the City of Ljubljana participated in the conference.
The City of Ljubljana, a member of the European Healthy Cities Network since its establishment in 1898, entered last year into phase VI of the programme, in which the main thematic emphasis follows the guidelines laid down in the document Health 2020 underlining the necessity of including the aspect of health in all policies.
At the conference the City of Ljubljana introduced itself with its activities for the elderly and Tanja Hodnik, the head of the Department for Health and Social Security, presented the project Active and Quality Aging in Home Environment (A-Qu-A) conducted in partnership with the City of Ljubljana.
The main goal of the mentioned project, which is co-financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism, is to modernise practices in the field of elderly home care.
