How to strike a balance between river tourism development and nature protection

On Tuesday and Wednesday, 20 and 21 April 2021, the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region is organizing a free webinar Environment and sustainability in the development of river tourism as part of the STAR Cities project.

At the event, 14 European good practices are going to be presented. On the first day, we can listen to good practices in the field of sustainable tourism development in strategic planning, including two from Slovenia: Ljubljana – European Green Capital 2016 and the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism, and examples from Germany and France in the field of sustainable mobility in relation to river tourism products. The second day of the webinar is dedicated to tourism in the role of environmental and heritage protection – again with presentations of good practices from our region: Theme trails in the Ljubljana Marshes Landscape Park and the My Ljubljanica Exhibition – and events celebrating rivers and promoting sustainable tourism with examples from France, Lithuania and Italy.

Attendance at the event, which is going to be held in English, is free of charge.

The program is available here, where you can also register.
