Scholarship holder of the City of Ljubljana Meta Cunder concluded her studies at the London College of Fashion with great success and won two awards in the field of footwear making and design.

As the Student of the Year she received the Cordwainer's Cup of Excellence in Footwear. She shares this title with some of the most influential names in the world of fashion, such as Sophia Webster and Georgina Goodman. The nominees and the winner are jointly selected by the whole collective and the award is presented by the Worshipful Company of Cordwainers, an organisation with an almost 750 year long tradition in footwear design and making.
The same institution organises the national competition Cordwainers' National Student of the Year Award, and students of three English universities specialized in footwear making and design traditionally take part in it. Meta Cunder competed with 15 finalists, and four judges, among them experts in the industry and footwear designers, chose our scholarship holder as the winner.

Undoubtedly both awards are going to contribute to the recognisability of Meta Cunder in the fashion world, new opportunities for further success are already opening up for her, namely, in September, she is starting her internship with the famous British footwear designer Nicholas Kirkwood. At the same time, Meta is building her own label and working together with designer Ben Mak, among other things, the two of them are preparing for the London Fashion Week in September, where they are going to present their new collection.
We are pleased that our scholarship for talented pupils and students supported Meta during her studies and thus contributed to her success. We congratulate her for concluding her studies and receiving the awards, and we wish her an abundance of creativity and success at home and abroad!
