Income – caring for water

The curtain came down on the INCOME environmental protection project at the end of June, the goal of which was the sustainable management of water resources and securing drinking water supplies.

Care for the environment and the quality of water sources are becoming ever more important elements of our daily lives. The INCOME project group, whose goal is the ongoing introduction of a vision of sustainable husbandry of water sources in Ljubljana, has seen its concern transformed into concrete activities. As a result of the INCOME project, Ljubljana is becoming a water-resource friendly city and has a chance to preserve its natural heritage for future generations.

On Wednesday 27 June 2012, a press conference was held at the VO-KA public company to mark the end of the INCOME environmental protection project.

At this event, when all had been done as part of the project to preserve the quality of water resources for future generations, the effective management of contaminated aquifers, the discovery and control of sources of pollution and measures to improve the situation, those present were addressed by Dr Brigita Jamnik, project leader, JP VO-KA, d. o. o., Asst Prof Dr Marko Komac, Director of the Slovenian Geological Institute and Alenka Loose, Head of the City of Ljubljana’s Environmental Protection Department.

Further information about the INCOME project is available in the project report below and on the INCOME project website.
