On the premises of the Central Information Office of the City of Ljubljana, at the address Mačkova ulica 1, an information point has opened for people of the age of 65+ and people with disabilities offering basic information on services and activities for both groups of residents in the City of Ljubljana.

The City of Ljubljana is conducting regular activities for the elderly and people with disabilities, as imposed by national legislation on local communities in Slovenia, and is additionally offering substantial support to numerous other activities, programmes and projects through its annual public tenders which are not stipulated in the legislation. They provide the elderly and the disabled in the City of Ljubljana with diverse forms of support and assistance giving them more independence and a higher quality of life in the home environment, and are creating conditions for socialising, education and participation in sports and culture. Their activities, that is, their tasks significantly complement the work of public services and they are mainly performed by non-governmental organisations, some of them by national and municipal public institutes.
