On Thursday, 13 February 2014, the City of Ljubljana organised an international expert meeting of the cities of Vienna, Bratislava and Ljubljana, which discussed the internal control system of public finances.

The meeting was held at the Ljubljana Castle and is a statement to maintaining and establishing closer contacts with neighbouring countries and thus exchanging experience and good practice. The meeting was also a result of the last year’s visit of the Office for Internal Auditing to the City of Vienna Court of Audit.

Representatives of the Budget Supervision Office of the Republic of Slovenia joined the foreign guests at the meeting. Head of the Budget Supervision Office presented the organisation of the internal control of public finances within the Slovenian legal order and the Internal Auditor presented the organisation and achievements of the Office for Internal Auditing of the City of Ljubljana.

The presentations during the debate were followed by the comparison of regulatory framework relating to the internal control of public finances with a special emphasis on the particularities which result from different organisation schemes of offices for internal auditing.
