When 400-year-old craftsmanship and invasive alien plants meet, the paper laboratory PAPirni LABoratorij PAPLAB is created.
The PAPLAB master workshop operates under the umbrella of JP VOKA SNAGA, and in it each sheet of paper is made by hand. Using over 100-year-old machines, they are reviving more than 400-year-old craftsmanship and building upon it by designing innovative products.
In a revived master workshop for handmade paper from Japanese knotweed, cellulose or cotton, they produce an exclusive collection of unique products. Paper products are carefully designed in line with the key properties of handmade paper and designed to be environment- and user-friendly. Within the framework of the workshop, new green jobs were created, and the entire program follows sustainable principles and is an example of good practice of circular economy in Ljubljana.
