Islamic iran in the mirror of culture and civilisations
Between 5 and 8 February 2013, Ljubljana Puppet Theatre is hosting a Cultural Week from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The cultural week entitled ‘Islamic Iran in the mirror of culture and civilisations’ on the 35th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic revolution and dahe Fajer (the ten-day celebration of the victory of the revolution) is organised by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Slovenia in partnership with the City of Ljubljana.
Iranian artistic representatives are bringing a concert of traditional Iranian music, a puppet performance and an exhibition of books and pictures. The exhibition, which is in the lobby of the Stage under the Stars and on show until 8 February 2013 from 10am to noon and from 3pm to 9pm, features a chance to see the production of Iranian handicrafts such as Persian carpets, artistic photography, woodcarvings, metal working and drawings. Free admission to the exhibition is available at the Puppet Theatre box office.
On Tuesday 5 and Thursday 7 February 2013 at 5.30pm, you are welcome to attend a puppet performance for adults entitled ChelCheloon by Mehdi Habibi, and at 7pm to a concert of traditional Iranian music. Viewing the exhibition and concert are free of charge.
