Jordan’s hand

Until 17 January 2014, the Kresija Gallery will host an exhibition by Silvester Plotajs Sicoe titled "Jordanova roka (Jordan's Hand)".

Dr. Sarival Sosič, curator of modern visual art: "The paintings of the academic painter Silvester Plotajs Sicoe represent a sequence of interplay of markers or marked connections, where each painting equals an element or a mark of a kind in the artist's personal system chain and is then connected with the rest in a narrative and dynamic aesthetic whole. In his works, the artistic narrative acts as a collection of several different expressions and differentiations of meaning, which are connected and contently divided through the author's well-known artistic expression and arranged into a systematical series of works, produced during creative waves and inspired by everyday life, sporadic painting workshops or special events. Sicoe remains faithful to his own distinct artistic way with which he (as regards content, colours and composition) systematically and patiently and with great enthusiasm for work and creative eroticism studies and emphasizes his enthusiasm for colour and an utmost relaxed study of the art field.
Sivester Plotajs Sicoe's paintings are full of life, ideas and thoughts, and his works of art are all produced with great creative energy. Equally fluid and energetic expression was used by Vincent van Gogh who influenced Sicoe's work and can be recognized in some of his works through allusions, caught in his motif and colour compositions. When studying Sicoe's work, one cannot disregard the humour, which is frequently present and found its way into many of his paintings, either in a visible or a hidden way. Humour emphasizes the author's thorough and above all critical thinking about painting as well as the artist’s ungrateful role in modern society. Because of this, the humour is often connected with irony and gradual criticism. All in all, with the exhibited works of art, Silvester Plotajs Sicoe also preserves the creative dynamics, the advance and the topicality of modern and open artistic language."
