June 2013 in ljubljana

Entertainment throughout the day and high culture in the evenings, free in June in the heart of the city.

For the fifth time, from Friday 7 to Thursday 20 June 2013, Congress Square is to play host to the ‘June in Ljubljana’ Festival, which is set to serve up a rich and diverse free programme aimed at just about everybody.

In the mornings, Congress Square will be full of the youngest among us enjoying a range of puppet and theatre performances, while the afternoons are reserved for lighter genres of dance and music.

Top theatre and dance performances and concerts will take place every evening. And what’s most important is that all performances are free of charge and thus accessible to everyone.

The theme of this year’s festival is to be human rights. A pride parade will conclude with a procession from Metelkova and a gala event in Congress Square as part of the June in Ljubljana Festival. As well as musical groups Napravi Mi Dete and Dandelion Children, the stage will feature appearances by representatives of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual communities as well as speakers from public life.

This year’s ‘June in Ljubljana’ programme is on Ljubljana Tourism’s website.

Thus there is an open invitation for all to come to Congress Square in Ljubljana city centre where everything is dedicated to art and culture for all. What could be more beautiful than a warm summer’s evening with an outstanding concert or performance under starry skies overlooked by the mighty Ljubljana Castle.

You are invited to join in with these cultural delights.

P.S.: In the event of adverse weather the performances are cancelled.
