Let yourself be taken away: upgraded bus tracking system

To keep passengers better informed we have overhauled and upgraded the bus tracking system providing current information on bus arrivals to city passenger traffic stops.

With the new ALV system which has replaced the Telargo system we expect the information to be even more reliable to help us improve services for our passengers.

New system functionalities

The new bus tracking system has more functionalities than the previous one, such as fuel consumption tracking, automatic transmission of data on vehicles and drivers into default LPP systems and faster transmission of data on bus arrivals into other systems announcing bus arrivals. With the conclusion of the last phase of the comprehensive system upgrade the operation of announcements is again errorless.

Continuous improvements of passenger information

Passengers can obtain information on bus arrivals at several places: most often they see information on bus arrivals on LED displays at 124 stops and on printed bus schedules at over 800 stops as well as on the so called »e-paper« at stops on Slovenska cesta.

Passengers can also follow bus arrivals on screens in buses and on the website www.lpp.si supported by Google Maps Transit and Prominfo or search the planned bus timetables. They can also find information on bus arrivals on their mobile devices using the mobile application Urbana. The chatbot Ljubo from Ljubljana in the application Facebook Messenger also offers information on bus arrivals if you type in for instance the keyword »LPP« or the name of the bus stop into the search engine.

Passengers can also call the toll-free telephone number 080 1888 to get information on bus arrivals.

This upgrade concludes the important transfer to the modernised bus tracking system and thus further improving the efficiency of the city bus passenger traffic.
