The British newspaper The Guardian has published a list of their readers' favorite European city breaks, and Ljubljana is also on it.

Ljubljana, with its fairytale architecture, as the title of the article points out, made it to the list, along with Rotterdam, Helsinki, Porto, Wroclaw, Bologna, Copenhagen and Munich.

Reader Isabela, who visited Ljubljana, was impressed by the food, culture and friendliness of the locals. She pointed out that Ljubljana is small and clean but thriving and youthful at the same time. It combines fairytale architecture and laid-back Mediterranean culture. She was also pleased to discover that Slovenian wines are among the finest in the world.

Ljubljana still holds the title of the best European city for short breaks (Best City Break), awarded in 2023 and 2024 by the organisation European Best Destinations.
