Ljubljana is among the finalists in the running for the EUROCITIES 2013 award in the ‘Smart living’ category (assuring security and equal opportunities for people with special needs).
Alongside Ljubljana, the other finalists are Edinburgh and Gijon. The winner will be announced on 27 November 2013.
The Eurocities award rewards outstanding achievements by Eurocities members in the provision of local activities or practices that improve citizens’ quality of life.
The Eurocities network was set up in 1986 by the mayors of six major European cities - Barcelona, Birmingham, Frankfurt, Lyon, Milan and Rotterdam, while today it covers more than 130 of Europe’s biggest cities and 40 partner cities, home to 130 million people.
