Ljubljana as point of departure for day trips

Ljubljana Tourism launched the second part of the campaign for the promotion of destinations and tourist services in the Central Slovenia region which is to continue up to November.

With the campaign they want to present a range of ideas for day trips and at the same time spread the word about all the beauties and adventures they can offer – for this reason they have decided to include the popular platform Instagram in the promotion and »award« the users of the #CentralSlovenia hashtag with a small local gift.

We are always describing Ljubljana as an ideal point of departure for day trips. Namely, we believe that by directing tourist flows into the Central Slovenia region and other parts of the country we can somewhat unburden the city centre and preserve it as a pleasant place to live in for the citizens and visitors who remain here. At the same time we are promoting and creating certain profit from tourism for other destinations and service providers – we believe in networking because this way the success of the capital benefits all.

Ljubljana Tourism carried out the first part of the campaign for the promotion of the Central Slovenia region already before summer this year and had a great response – 2000 #CentralSlovenia posts.

Since 2011 Ljubljana Tourism has been operating as a regional destination organisation and has been contributing to the revival of less valorised tourist destinations in the region as well as to the creation of commercially successful integrated tourist products which draw visitors to Ljubljana out of the city centre. Namely, the promotion of regional destinations and interesting adventures can increase the average length of stay and boost consumption, which are both strategic goals.
