‘Ljubljana Graphic Album’
Until the end of March 2012, the ground floor of building C at the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana is the venue of an exhibition of screen printing entitled ‘Ljubljana Graphic Album’ by Vesna Črnivec.
The graphic folder comprises 13 graphic screen prints. The screen prints are based on black and white photography taken by Črnivec using various analogue cameras on walks around Ljubljana in the 1975-2005 period. Via selected images of Ljubljana the author also takes a stroll through graphic techniques. Each graphic print has its origin in the hand-made photographs, on the basis of which she produced a digital matrix and finally a graphic print in the screen printing technique. The graphic album’s research theme is photographic transfer in the screen printing technique where the author is mainly interested in two- and three-dimensional visual surfaces and numerous colours relative to the relief of the image.
‘Ljubljana Graphic Album’ was printed with assistance from the City of Ljubljana, the International Centre of Graphic Arts and the then Architectural Museum of Ljubljana.
The exhibition on the ground floor of building C at Institute of Oncology Ljubljana is open until the end of March 2012.
