The website of the popular British guidebook Rough Guide lists Ljubljana among the top ten summer cities.
Ljubljana is recommended as a destination for a cultural city break comparable to Prague, but without the crowds.
In its recommendation, Rough Guide writes that the best time to visit Ljubljana is the summer. Apart from numerous museums, galleries and ten international festivals, travellers are recommended to view the city's architectural sights, particularly those created by Jože Plečnik, the greatest Slovenian architect, visit the magical old city centre, and enjoy the view of the Alps from Ljubljana Castle.
