Ljubljana one of most affordable european tourist city

The AMZS association and its partner automobile clubs have conducted a research within the EuroTest consortium. The results were a comparison of prices of a short tourist trip, a city break, and Ljubljana was placed third among the twenty European cities.

The research included twenty larger cities of eighteen European countries. The pricing comparison was analysed by a shopping basket of twenty products and services that is usually needed by a tourist in a foreign city.

Beograd was placed first with the basket of products and services priced 41 €, followed by Zagreb and Ljubljana (63 €). The most expensive European countries from the research are Oslo (153 €), Paris and London.

The basket included the following sections of tourist products and services:

• price of a guided tour of the city, a daily ticket for the public transport, admissions to the most important sights of the city,
• price of health and body care products (suntan lotions, toothpaste, headache medicine, ...),
• price of food and drinks in a restaurant (pasta, fried potato, beer, cappuccino, ...),
• price of various snacks and beverages (cookies, water, ...).
