Ljubljana public holdings – a family-friendly company
Ljubljana Public Holdings (JHL) has been awarded a basic certificate as a family-friendly company and has thus become one of more than 140 similarly certified socially responsible Slovenian companies and organisations.
At the beginning of 2013, Ljubljana Public Holdings, in line with the company's strategy and keen to increase the satisfaction, motivation and loyalty of its staff, began a consulting-auditing procedure to acquire a basic certificate as a family-friendly company. As part of this process, a plan was produced to implement measures aimed at improving management working processes and the quality of the working environment in order to better reconcile work and family life. On 10 May 2013, the Audit Council approved the implementation plan to carry out specific measures, and thus yesterday the company was awarded a basic certificate as a family-friendly company.
The awarder of the certificate as a family-friendly company is the non-profit NGO the Ekvilib institute, which has developed the certificate in partnership with the Ministry of Work, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, Ljubljana University’s Faculty of Social Sciences, the Pergam Confederation of Slovenian Trade Unions, the Association of Employers of Slovenia, the Slovenian Association of Free Trade Unions and others.
Between 2011 and 2015, the acquisition of a basic certificate as a family-friendly company is 80% co-financed by the European Social Fund.
