Ljubljana is being showcased at the ‘Build the city - Examples for and from Vienna’ exhibition, which focuses on urban planning in cities.
Exhibition organisers would like to find answers to questions about how to develop urban policies that assure residents the highest possible quality of life and open discussions on city development.
The exhibition, which runs until 30 March 2012, is reinforced by concrete case studies from Vienna and other European cities. Spatial solutions are showcased from Bratislava, Brno, Hamburg, Munich, Stockholm, Malmo, Zagreb and Ljubljana.
Ljubljana is showcasing three projects: renovated squares and the banks of the Ljubljanica, which have revived the old part of the town, Stožice Sports Centre and the Šmartinka public-private partnership project. Around the exhibition there are to be many conferences and round tables where speakers will discuss current questions in the field of city development, planning and set strategic spatial development planning in Ljubljana, Bratislava, Brno and Zagreb. On 2 February 2012 the event is to be attended by Miran Gajšek MA, Head of the City of Ljubljana’s Spatial Management Department.
