Ljubljana ZOO reopened

As we are successfully managing the coronavirus epidemic in Slovenia also because of all those who are following the imposed rules and thus preventing the spread of the infection, we have reopened the Ljubljana ZOO on 27 April 2020. In addition to all official instructions, there are a few specific rules to follow.

Follow the new rules

Operation of the Ljubljana ZOO is modified to be safe for visitors as well as for its employees and animals. That is why four-legged companions are not allowed into the ZOO for now.

For preventive reasons some parts of the ZOO remain closed to visitors, and a distance of at least two metres has to be kept at all times. Visitors have to pay attention to hand and cough hygiene, that is why hand disinfectants are set up in numerous locations. Several times a day employees disinfect spaces and surfaces where there is contact with visitors, and they have arranged for visitors to enter and exit the ZOO without touching doors. The use of face masks is mandatory indoors, and recommended elsewhere.

We invite the visitors to the ZOO to walk around and watch the animals, and not to sit about or linger in larger groups in one space. That is why we have marked a circular sightseeing route which they have to follow.

Numerous spring cubs

Scheduled feeding of animals and educational programmes are still on hold for a while. But looking forward to see you are the small zebra Sanaa, the two-humped camel cub Zaya, and wild boar, Indian porcupine, Patagonian mara, mouflon, kangaroo and black-tufted marmoset offspring. Let us make sure that their first contact with visitors is a pleasant experience.
