Lower Snaga Invoice
As the public company Snaga has successfully reduced the amount of waste and thus lowered its costs, it is giving its users a refund of 60 percent of the December invoice on average.
Snaga has again this year performed a (partial) quantitative reconciliation lowering its users’ December invoice for waste management. The reason behind the settlement is more efficient separation of waste then foreseen, namely, there was less waste deposited in black bins, which means lower costs for the users.
Such refunds are allowed by the Rules of tariff system for public service which has proven to be a good legislative solution that works for the benefit of all stakeholders. It has to be added that Snaga forms prices on the basis of the planned amount of preformed services and expected costs and revenues for the next period. But predictions and calculations can differ from the actual amount, therefore it is the responsibility of the company to calculate the overcharged or undercharged amount of waste for each user separately.
This has been done on the basis of the difference between planned and actual amount of waste, and because the company has found discrepancies in numerous cases (as a consequence of better waste separation then foreseen, that is, less waste dumped in the black bins) it is giving its users a refund of 60 percent of the December payment order on average.
As the eligibility for the settlement, that is, refund, was checked for each individual user, the settlement value is not the same for all users.
