On 5 and 6 May 2014, the Mayor of Ljubljana Zoran Janković and the City of Ljubljana delegation paid an official visit to the cities of Milan and Bologna.

On 5 May Mayor Zoran Janković met with the Mayor of Milan, Giuliano Pisapio, to discuss among other topics the presentation of the City of Ljubljana at the Slovenian exhibition pavilion at the EXPO 2015 in Milan and the collaboration of the two cities in various fields.

The next day the Mayor Zoran Janković met with the Mayor of Bologna, Virginio Merola, to discuss establishing the Ljubljana and Bologna connection and potential collaboration projects in the fields of culture, tourism and green urbanisation.
