Mipim 2013

For the sixth year in a row, the City of Ljubljana was on show at MIPIM 2013, the biggest international investment and real estate fair in Cannes, France.

The City showcased its ‘Ljubljana main street re-development’, which is currently one of the biggest city projects. Slovenska cesta is the city’s backbone and its main development axis. In line with the City’s Sustainable Mobility Plan, among other things its remodelling includes closing the street’s central section to all motor vehicles except buses, the strategic infill of new mixed use buildings, including the National University Library, Šumi residence and City Tower; the construction of a core public transport hub, planting a new arboreal avenue and city greenery, expanding the sidewalks and bicycle lanes, etc.
Via these projects we would like to demonstrate how we are carrying out the renovation of the city centre by transforming public space with pedestrians, cyclists and public transport projects in mind, and synergic with projects by individual investors that increase the density of and intensify the city.

Under the slogan ‘Slovenian Way, Ljubljana main street re-development’, projects around Slovenska cesta were also showcased by Immorent (the City Tower business centre and the Šumi commercial and residential building), the Slovenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and the Spirit Slovenia agency.

MIPIM is the largest international property hub, where the most influential property decision-makers and investors from around the world gather annually to showcase the latest property trends and key global investment projects.
