Mladinsko receives excellent reviews
The Mladinsko Theatre was successfully hosted at the Sibiu International Theatre Festival in Romania. Excellent response of the public at one of the greatest European festivals was accompanied by an excellent review in the British newspaper Guardian.
Andrew Haydon, critic at the Guardian, commented on the performance Damned Be the Traitor of His Homeland, directed by Oliver Frljić, in the following way: “It's one of the most perfect examples of theatrical alchemy I've ever seen, and its powerful, cumulative effect has the audience leaving the theatre shell-shocked, elated, angry, sad, and needing to spend some time alone.” (Andrew Haydon: the Guardian, 27 June, 2014).
Damned Be the Traitor of His Homeland! the greatest international hit of the Mladinsko Theatre from Slovenia, has finished this year’s season with a prestigious visit at the biggest Romanian festival in Sibiu. Over ten days, it hosted artists from 60 countries whose performances have been daily visited by 62,000 people.
Sibiu had been already twenty-eighth town abroad to host the performance by Frljić. In July, the performance appears also in France at the festival in Dunkerque and later in Italy where the Mittelfest in Cividale del Friuli opens with the global “hit” of the Mladinsko Theatre, the European Cultural Ambassador 2008.
