Mob-i-lnice

February saw the start of operations of ‘MOB-i-LNICE – info point for sustainable mobility’, known generally around the world as a ‘mobility shop’.

At the Tourist Information Centres in Krekov trg, Stritarjeva ulica and at the railway station, residents of and visitors to Ljubljana are to have additional information available about (sustainable) mobility around Ljubljana. In addition to the usual services, they also offer information about the project and using public transport to get around the city, using the Google Transit application to plan routes with city buses and trains and about the public bike borrowing system Bicike(LJ), as well as options to buy and top up an Urbana card.

The objectives of bringing mobility information into the pre-existing tourist information network are to make all tourist information available in one place; easy recognition of all info points, which will be equipped with special stickers as well as quick access to key data and advice how to best get from one place to another.

Additional services promoting environmentally- and people-friendly ways of mobility in Ljubljana are part of implementing the CIVITAS ELAN project, co-financed by the EU in partnership with the City of Ljubljana and the Ljubljana Tourism public institute.
