As part of the European OpenMuseums project, Ljubljana City Museum is preparing a really special photographic exhibition; they would like to put on show photography of Ljubljana as seen by its residents and visitors.

In this task they need the help of users of Instagram and similar devices for digital photo editing and their publication on social networking sites. Instagram processed photography usually finds itself at home on social networking sites, but the Ljubljana City Museum would like to move it to a totally different environment – a museum exhibition.

And how can you take part? Send your photos capturing Ljubljana, its heartbeat and diverse events, fixed and movable cultural heritage, city symbols, as well as original and unusual city motifs which we don’t usually associate with a mention of Ljubljana. Photography sent should be accompanied by a history or commentary.

The City Museum will be collecting photos until 28 February 2013 at openmuseums@mgml.si. The photography will be assessed by a jury who select from them the best, most imaginative and most interesting which will be put on display at Ljubljana City Museum. The images selected will also find a place in the Ljubljana City Museum and Galleries photographic collection.
