Ljubljana Health Centre family doctor Jarmila Trček Breznikar, dr. med. spec., who works in the Šentvid unit, has been awarded the title of My Doctor 2013.

Jarmila Trček Breznikar, dr. med. spec., takes care of around 2,200 patients, while also working in an anticoagulation clinic, doing duty shifts in the unit for emergency medical assistance and is the appointed doctor at the Institute for Health Insurance in Novo Mesto.

Receiving the award of My Doctor 2013, Jarmila Trček Breznikar said that it gave her the most burning feeling of satisfaction to be able to help people who are ill or in distress each and every day.

Ljubljana Health Centre is enormously proud of its staff as this is the fourth title of ‘My Doctor’ received by its doctors. In 2010, the ‘My Doctor’ title went to Jasna Dekleva, dr. med. spec., doctor of family medicine in the Vič Rudnik unit, while in 2012 the title was awarded to Dr Mateja Bulc, dr. med. spec., doctor of family medicine in the Šiška unit, the same unit that employs ‘My Paediatrician 2012’ Lučka Molka, dr. med. spec..

It should be added that last month Ljubljana Health Centre’s medical head Assistant Professor Dr Tonka Poplas Susič, dr. med. spec. was assessed as the best doctor in primary health care by a professional panel at the Schrottovi Days.

The ‘My Doctor’ campaign has been organised for the last 17 years by Viva magazine, as part of a campaign in which magazine readers vote for the best family doctor, gynaecologist and paediatrician.
