New bus route between ljubljana and klagenfurt

It is very welcoming and encouraging to announce the reinstatement of the regular bus route between the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, and the Austrian city of Klagenfurt.

Departures take place four times per day for every day of a week. The connection is vital for both cities and their airports in Brnik and Klagenfurt, as they are now connected. New possibilities have opened up for guests landing at the Klagenfurt Airport and their connecting routes, organised group trips, shopping trips, visits to both cities, enjoying the Slovenian and Austrian culinary offer, and visiting events, friends and others. The connection itself improves tourism for both cities and enables intercity cooperation.

The route has started running at the end of March, and the designated path follows the road from the Klagenfurt Airport, via the main railway station in Klagenfurt, Borovlje, Ljubelj mountain pass, Kranj, the Jože Pučnik Airport (Brnik) and the main railway station in Ljubljana. The traffic line is named AlpeAdria Line and it is brought to us by the Ebner Reisen GmbH, Reisebüro and Busreisen Juwan GmbH in Kärnten Bus GmbH companies with the support of the Regional Government of Carinthia (Council for Energy, Sustainability and Public Transport).

The bus leaves the Ljubljana railway station every day at 5.45 am, 7.45 am, 11.30 am and 4.30 pm, and departs from Klagenfurt (airport) at 4.10 am, 8 am, 1.30 pm and 4.15 pm. Arrangements for groups outside the regular schedule are possible.

More information is available at the AlpeAdria Line website in German and Slovene – it includes technical information and presentation of both cities and Borovlje.
