The new Youth Golf Centre Stanežiče (Mladinski Golf Center Stanežiče) has been opened in September 2014 in Ljubljana. The Centre offers two practice greens and 9 short holes (Pitch & Putt), and is intended for young golf players and the golf school of the clubs and societies of Ljubljana.

The Centre arrangement is financed by the City of Ljubljana, the Sports Ljubljana public institution and the Foundation of Sport of the Republic of Slovenia. The construction work took place from the fall of 2013 to the June 2014. The investment value was of something less than 588 thousand Euros.

Until today the Golf Trnovo Ljubljana course (9 holes), south of the Ljubljana bypass, was the only golf course in the Slovenian capital, while the Ljubljana's outskirts offered two courses - the Diners Club Ljubljana with eighteen holes and the Arboretum Golf Ljubljana with eighteen holes as well.

Ljubljana is not far from other golf courses in Slovenia. The most popular ones are the two courses at Bled (Kreljevo and Jezerca), the Otočec, the Mokrice Castle, the Moravske Toplice, the Lipica and the Ptuj golf course.
