On Thursday 19 November 2009 Mayor of Ljubljana Zoran Janković held an official reception at City Hall for the President of Greece Dr. Karolos Papoulias, who was on an official visit to Slovenia with a delegation.

 

President of Greece Dr Karolos Papoulias was on an official visit to Slovenia from 17 – 19 November 2009. During the visit he met President of Slovenia Dr Danilo Türk, Slovenian Prime Minister Borut Pahor, President of the National Assembly Dr Pavel Gantar and Slovene business leaders at a Slovenian-Greek business conference.

The respective capitals, Ljubljana and Athens have a mutual Accord on Friendship and Co-operation between Cities, which was signed by the then Mayor of Ljubljana Viktorija Potočnik on 1 March 2000. The Greek and Slovenian capitals now principally work together in the framework of UCEU (Union of Capitals of the European Union) and the Association of Capital Cities of Central and Southeastern Europe.
