On Monday, 29 February 2016, Mayor Zoran Janković hosted the President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė at the City Hall.

On the occasion, the guest signed the Golden Book of Ljubljana, and after the reception the Mayor and the President opened the exhibition of the Lithuanian artist Vytautasa Daraškevičius titled Į LAISVĘ / V SVOBODO / TO FREEDOM in the Historical Atrium of the City Hall.

The photographic exhibition spans over a period of time from the beginning of the Sąjūdis movement to the gathering on 1 September 1991, which was essentially the international recognition of the Republic of Lithuania. The author took part in the movement, he was constantly documenting events through his photo lens and the purpose of his exhibition is to preserve the significance of these important times for Lithuania.
