The Mayor Zoran Janković held a reception in the city hall for the President of the Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE) dr. Franz Schausberger on 25 April 2016.

Prof. dr. Schausberger is a founder of IRE whose main purpose is to create a supra-regional and politically independent platform for municipalities, regions and enterprises in an enlarged Europe in order to take greater account of the importance of the regions and municipalities to utilise the economic potential and create European policies.
At the moment, more than 120 regions, municipalities, cities and towns, as well as enterprises from 19 European countries are active in the IRE.
