Project trieste

On Tuesday, 15 October 2013, a visiting delegation of Trieste representatives headed by Mayor of Trieste Roberto Cosolini visited the City Hall to present the project Trieste – a city of theatres, aimed at Slovenian visitors.

The Mayors of Ljubljana and Trieste, Zoran Janković and Roberto Cosolini, initially emphasized the successful cooperation between the two cities, which is most evident in the cultural field.

Project Trieste – a city of theatres was initiated by Friuli-Venezia Giulia theatre Il Rossetti and the Slovene theatre in Trieste. The programme of both theatres, which is also intended for Slovene audience, was presented by Miloš Budin, President of Friuli-Venezia Giulia theatre Il Rossetti, and Maja Laponik, President of the Slovene theatre in Trieste.

The presentation was also attended by Darko Brlek, Artistic and General Director of Ljubljana Festival, who presented the scenic cantata Carmina Burana composed by Carl Orff, which the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy on 20 June 2014, the evening before the opening of the 62nd Ljubljana Festival.
The Slovene Philharmonic Orchestra, chorus and solo singers will be led by conductor Uroš Lajovic.
