Record number of visits to Kinodvor
The number of visitors to Kinodvor, public institute under the City of Ljubljana, has been on the increase ever since 2008; and in the past year with 2123 public screenings in the film theatre and at mobile cinema locations in Ljubljana it recorded as many as 128,973 viewers.
In 2015, Kinodvor remained true to its main mission, namely, screening a diverse selection of quality films. It has offered films from 49 countries around the world, 253 feature films and over 450 short films as part of 56 programme sets.
The children’s programme Kinobalon (Cinemabaloon) recorded 35,856 visitors in 2015. Over 40 different film artists, pedagogues and other professionals contributed to the programme.
Additional 3600 viewers of the three free-of-charge film screenings within the scope of the summer open-air cinema at the Congress Square have to be added to the issued tickets, as well as visitors coming to exhibitions, workshops and other open events at the city cinema.
In 2015, Kinodvor launched a new film and educational programme Kinotrip (Cinematrip) for the teenage public which encompasses a film club and a festival, a school programme and events during the year. In 2016, the first international film festival Kinotrip is taking place from 24 to 27 March.
